Hinoki root oil and sleep: twelve women, two weeks and three authors from the company that supplies it
A Kyushu University pilot study of twelve women aged 35 to 60 with disturbed sleep reports fewer awakenings and more slow-wave activity after two weeks with oil from the root of the hinoki cypress. The oil comes from a Kagawa company that co-signs the paper with three authors. The study appeared in the Journal of Wood Science on 1 September 2026.
